6 EASY Halloween Treat Recipes

Spooky season is upon us, and festive desserts are always so much fun! I used to be a Halloween hater, but it is quickly becoming one of my favorite holidays. Whether you are making treats for a Halloween party, or an easy halloween snack for your family and friends, you have come to the right place, we have six easy recipes to share with you, let’s get started!

How to Make White Chocolate Ghost Suckers

white chocolate ghost suckers

Every year, for as long as I can remember, my grandma has passed out white chocolate ghost suckers to all the trick-or-treaters, and they are always a big hit, year after year. I decided to make them for my kids' party the last few years, and they are the perfect treats for the elementary and preschool kids! There is only one ingredient, just white chocolate, it is such a simple halloween dessert, but the kids (and adults) love them!

Supplies:

Directions:

Melt white chocolate chips on the stove. Do it on a low temp and melt them slowly so they don’t burn! You could also microwave them, just be sure to use a microwave safe bowl. Add all the sticks to the mold. Spoon in melted white chocolate and try to fill them completely in. Stick the mold in the fridge on a flat surface and let the white chocolate harden. Pop them out of the mold, slip them in a sucker bag, and tie a bow with bakers twine! They are festive, and so yummy!

How to Make Monster Rice Krispie Treats

monster rice krispies

As Halloween is approaching, we’ve been trying to come up with fun and easy halloween treats that we can munch on and use for parties.

Rice krispie treats are a favorite of ours so we love making them into a festive treat.

We made five different colors – black, lime green, orange, purple and turquoise. Like I said, they’re perfect Halloween treats, but would also be awesome at a monster-themed party at any time of year!

You can definitely make homemade Rice Krispie Treats using your favorite recipe, then cut them into rectangles and follow the recipe from there. We just liked using store bought Rice Krispies Treats because it made it really quick and easy! They’ll taste great either way.

Supplies:

Directions:

Unwrap the Rice Krispies (or cut your homemade rice Krispie into rectangles). Add the lollipop sticks to the bottoms of the treats. Melt candy melts as directed on the package (35 melts will cover 3-4 rice Krispie) and dip tops of the treats in melted candy. Place on parchment paper. Press candy eyes on while candy coating is still wet, and let them set completely. (If you don't have the candy eyes you can also use white candy melts to make the eyes!) If you want them to set quicker, you can place them in the fridge – just make sure you put the parchment paper on a cookie sheet first!

Variations:

We loved how cute the candy eyes turned out with the different colors for these treats. You and your kids can have some fun and change things up if you wish. Some ideas include:

  • Using edible writing gel to create a mouth

  • Use chocolate rice Krispies or even fruity pebbles to make your own treats

  • Use a popsicle sticks or decorative straws instead of candy sticks

How to Make Mini Donut Spiders

mini donut spider pretzel

Looking for fun, easy Halloween recipes you can do with your kids that won’t take a lot of prep time? How about these cute mini donut spiders? They’re easy treats to put together – even my three year old was able to make one – and they don’t take too many supplies. We made them at the second grade class Halloween party last year, and it was one of the kids' favorite things!

Supplies:

  • large pretzel twists

  • mini chocolate donuts

  • M&M's

  • a little frosting or chocolate (I always have chocolate chips on hand, so that’s what I used).

Directions:

Use a sharp knife to cut the two curved sides of the pretzel. Carefully push 8 pretzel curves into the top of a mini donut to form legs. Press slowly so you don’t snap the pretzels. Melt a little chocolate or frosting in a sandwich or piping bag. Clip off a tiny corner and pipe some melted chocolate or frosting onto the mini donut, and use it to stick two M&Ms on for the eyes. Enjoy your delicious halloween treats!

How to Make Frankenstein Mouths

halloween monster mouths

These sweet treats are simple, but the best part, they are healthy treats! Perfect for an after school snack during the month of October, or a fun one to make at your Halloween parties! Caramel apples are one of my favorite treats during the Halloween season, you could easily swap the peanut butter in this recipe to caramel for a treat the whole family would love!

Supplies:

(Amounts on ingredients vary on how many “mouths” you make)

  • Green Apples

  • Peanut Butter

  • Lemon juice (about 1 lemon)

  • For the “teeth” you can use many different things including, peeled almonds, mini marshmallows, jelly beans, candy corn, yogurt covered raisins and more.

Directions:

  1. Slice the apples into pieces that look like lips (just a standard slice will work).

  2. Place the sliced apples in a bowl or lemon water for about 10-15 minutes so they don’t brown.

  3. Heavily spread peanut butter on the tops of each apple slice.

  4. Stick the “teeth” into the peanut butter so it sticks…I like to put these in sorta crooked so they look scarier.

  5. Then stick 2 of them together (one side with teeth and one without).

  6. Enjoy!

How to Make Monster Oreo Pops

monster oreo pops

White chocolate covered Oreos decorated with candy eyes and sprinkles, these Halloween Monster Pops are a fun and easy Halloween treat. Perfect for Halloween parties or gift-giving and kid-approved!

These Halloween Oreos were a massive hit with everyone here, of course – I mean, how can you not love Oreos dipped in chocolate? If you have little kids that want to get involved, this is a great recipe for them, too. It’s easy, requires no baking, and they can get creative adding the candy eyes and sprinkles to make the monster’s face.

If you’re in charge of the classroom Halloween party snack, these monster pops are perfect. Just wrap them individually in cellophane bags and seal with a ribbon!

Supplies:

  • Candy melts: I used green and orange to stick with the Halloween theme but you can use any color that you want your monsters to be. You can also add food coloring to white candy melts.

  • Oreos: I used traditional Oreo Cookies for these monster pops but blonde Oreos would work too.

  • Candy eyeballs: You’ll want both small and large candy eyeballs for a variety of silly monster faces.

  • Halloween sprinkles: Sprinkles add more fun color to the pops and can even be made to look like hair on the monster.

  • Lollipop sticks: You can also use decorative straws or popsicle sticks.

Directions:

If you’ve ever wondered how to make chocolate dipped Oreos, these easy monster pops are a great place to start.

  • Melt the orange candy melts. Melt the chocolate according to package directions, until melted and smooth.

  • Add the sticks to the Oreos. Twist open each of the Oreos. Dip the ends of each popsicle stick into the chocolate then press into the Oreo cream. Add the top of the cookie back. Transfer to the fridge for 10 minutes.

  • Melt the green candy melts. Melt the green candy melts according to the package directions, until melted and smooth.

  • Assemble the monster pops. Begin dipping the Oreos into the chocolate of your choice. Quickly add a few eyes and add sprinkles if desired. Repeat until cookies are decorated.

  • Chill. Place in the fridge for 30 minutes to set before enjoying.
